To say Guillermo Casanova is talented, is a drastic understatement. Calling him a visual artist is apt, but it hardly covers the entire scope of the output. As Creative Director of Orlando-based Relief In Abstract Records, which boasts a roster of artists who produce all kinds of pleasingly lush electronic sounds, he’s got his hands on all kinds of art. Guillermo performs live visuals for XXYYXX, Fortune Howl, JSHIH, Marble, The Naked Howl, and GRANT… and while they get their new website up and running, we’ll be sure to listen to it all.
Between the images made as correlative counterpoints to upcoming live sounds, as well as the sounds themselves, this label is certainly making strides. It’s fantastic to see/hear these pockets of inspiration. I think it’s fair to say we can expect big things from Guillermo Casanova… between paper collage, digital, mixed media, design, and on-stage visuals, there certainly are no confines to his impressive output.
