Iain Macarthur is getting a lot of love from the art & culture heavyweights these days, and rightly so. His illustrations are incredibly intricate and beautiful, while imparting the feeling that line and contour, in tandem with nature, are about to completely take over. The peacock image below, is an example of the way his realist tendencies conflate with symmetry and a sense of light that is hard to match, in aptitude and execution. The way he combines environment and humanity in a lot of his work is striking, surreal, and impressive. Like we said, respect where respect is do, and Iain’s work is superlative.
