Good Medicine indeed, but we’ve have been in love with Zach Johnsen’s work for a few years now. Mostly because he’s awesome, and secondarily because the work is. His latest is superlative, and we’d expect nothing less. We also are happy to let you know that including it is a part of the IPMM Permanent Collection, as a result of Zach’s amazing generosity.
Printed byD&L out of Seattle (who always do great work), this print is an insane value at $45 bucks. Kudos to ZJ and his stellar imprint, Zenvironments.
“I’m pleased to present a new silkscreen print available in my shop.. Good Medicine.
This print is part one of a new ongoing series of “Medicine Men” I’ve been developing. The series is a portrayal of various fantastic spirit healers from nature. Borrowing from the costumage of traditional and ancient healers in various countries, cultural dieties, along with my own mutant adaptations, I’m working to create amalgamations of floating spiritual strong points.
The first is Good Medicine. This spirit of healing power will help a patient mend from most major physical injuries, from a broken back to a ruptured spleen. Instead of to immediate emergency surgery, the afflicted should be wheeled promptly to the nearest pristine forest. The remedy consists of a good wack with a healing stick by the Good Medicine spirit then a prying open of the third eye of the afflicted. A period of nauseum will ensue whereby the patient will witness what before lay invisible. This includes, but is not limited to, energies surrounding all living things, power points, cosmic triggers, roots of trees and plants and natural healing properties in nature that restructure the body.
This art is a 20×30″ 6 color screenprint on heavyweight bright white paper. Edition of 75. They are signed and numbered by yours truly. On sale for $45 each.
