Mars-1 is, well, the man. Another Juxtapoz-ee, this guy really lets himself go. To hear him talk about his work, you’d think he was a scientist, not an artist. In any case, his images are ridiculous – I’ve never really seen anything similar. There seems to be some type of breathing, pulsating, reality to his work, despite a general sense of dreams, surrealism and fanciful geometry. His work has also evolved quite a bit, if you meander on his website, you’ll see some older stuff which is very different, and just as good. Change is good.
