Megan Van Groll

Megan Van Groll is an artist who’s work is a lot more honest than most you find. She engages the issue of women and food, which she comments on to varying degrees, based of course, on your point of view. Nudity is also central to her exploration, as she questions the role of body image and femininity in modern culture. To us, it feels feminist, declarative, and real. There’s a disarming factor to the way her seemingly autobiographical nude characters endeavor to live out certain situations. Jung talks about dreams being the way we try our hat in various situations we couldn’t in our waking life, and for some reason, I feel this holds true for Megan’s work. But that’s just like, our opinion, man.
