This is another episode that has been in the works for a while, and we’re so glad it is seeing the light of day. Compiled and curated by a multi-talented friend of IPMM, Dustin Harris has his hands in various creative projects in Chicago. He coordinates the Miles of Murals project, DJ’s events, and has even built custom DJ booths.
We love that our audio series can be a time portal, because contribution certainly is. Dustin Harris does it all, and we’re glad he’s down with IPaintMyMind.

As always, in their on words:
“I dug and dug and dug through the 700 plus 80’s records I have to find some of the gems on this mix. There is something completely baffling about listening to the ‘other’ songs on an album to make the artist seem way more diverse than their hit single. This mix consists of some of the ‘obscure’ songs I found and love. There may be a couple ‘hits’ that were heard on the radio thrown in for fun, yet I kept the tempo paced around 140 beats per minute, just to get you to get up and do that one 80’s dance you once knew. You know, the one where you probably throw in a few snaps of your fingers. So go spike your hair with gel, taper your stone washed jeans to your ankles with safety pins, pop up your paisley shirt collar, put on your ‘creepers’ or your ‘monkey boots’ and do the robot while pumping this mix! It’s like so rad and totally fresh!”
