“My first love = Hip Hop. I haven’t recorded a straight hip hop mix in years, and have been injecting much more Boogie, House, & Funk into my repertoire. It taught me how to properly mix different genres and pushed my progression as a DJ… So when IPaintMyMind asked me to do a mix for their site, I jumped up and said, ‘Hot Damn, I got to put my Blue Adidas Jump suit on and break out that real Hip Hop!’   At first I was going to lay down the instrumentals and paint over it with scratches, acapellas, and voice samples, but after listening to it, I think I kind of like it so open – it lets the listener paint their thoughts.  Sooo, thats where I got the idea and name. Paint Your Mind.  I left the canvas half finished so your thoughts can fill it in…Maybe it will make you think …”
