Erykah Badu is a badass. Bottom line. One of the most creative and evolutionary artists out there. She does what she wants, and does it incredibly well. New Amerykah: Part One was rugged and political, and Part Two is about the dimensions of love. I was curious to see how she would follow the 1st chapter of the New Amerykah collection, and she’s definitely switched it up, with her band clicking on all cylinders. She seems to have summoned her funk-soul roots, while, as always, providing something new and fresh, funky and layered. Besides her grassy knoll antics, Badu continues to morph and impress. Emek did the art again, further confirming the artistic pairing. They fit together so perfectly…
