I’ve bought a few releases recently from Chicago-based label Thrill Jockey, including the latest from the Chicago Underground Collective. This time they’re a duo, and this one is titled “Boca Negra,” and is stellar. Thrill Jockey is one of those labels you find, and then, rather unabashedly, dismantle the majority of their roster. I’m looking forward to making at least a few more purchases soon – bands on this label are clearly following their bliss, and in my opinion, that’s the first step in creating quality music or art.
