In the last few weeks I have discovered and become a full-on advocate for Waxpoetics Magazine, which, in my estimation, is right up there with the best music publications around. Let’s face it – Rolling Stone and Spin are pieces of shit. Advertisements buffered by more of the same, even when you’re reading an article.
With Waxpoetics, you’re not being told this music is truth because some massive label has paid to have that be so – they spread the word on great music for one reason
- because that music deserves to be heard. Lucky for me, the current issue is the Brazil Issue, featuring bad ass bossa nova, jazz and funk kings like Gilberto Gil, Airto Moreira, and more.
I am now a subscriber. Big ups to Waxpoetics.
