Objectified
Objectified is a fun documentary that takes a look at design, intentionality, and the various paradigms that dominate amongst people who dedicate themselves to rethinking nearly everything. The film uncovers the way culture speaks through design, and eventually comes to the conclusion that good design doesn’t feel designed at all. It’s a plot-point most of us come to when we find something that seems to be perfectly thought out, deftly applicable, and cleverly simplified. And that’s the key. Despite technology and its tendency to push forward in ways most of us could never really understand; there is a whole realm of modern design which really does serve everyone in a variety of situations, while at the same time speaking to who we are via the things we buy and use. The people in Objectified make sense of the aesthetics that inspire them and the ideas that challenge them on a daily basis. The film also includes some really cool shots of design and manufacturing processes…us likey. You will too…
