“Thank you for creating such a magical organization!”
Animated by our central See, Think, Do pedagogy, the IPMM Arts Education Curriculum operates with the fundamental belief that when students dive into appreciating, discussing, and establishing context around art, they’ll be inspired to create art of their own.
At IPMM, we believe that teaching and connecting students with living, working artists, will empower them to believe they can be artists as well.
Students are inherently creative, collaborative art lovers, and our curriculum guides them towards realizing these qualities within themselves! That’s why we ask students to consider art they already love, search for public art around their homes, and otherwise get in touch with the art they experience in their daily lives
The IPaintMyMind Arts Education Curriculum for Teachers, Parents & Caregivers is all about giving you the tools to bring the arts into your classroom and truly connect with your students. We know that the arts are often underfunded and left with the scraps of the school budget. Art teachers have to do a lot with a little and we’ve always been committed to helping as much as we can! The IPMM Arts Education Curriculum is an exciting tool to do just that.
Teachers and parents will do whatever they can to support their kids, and we take pride in supporting you. By providing you with an easy-to-follow, customizable, interactive PDF with videos and lesson plans, you can finally provide an arts education rooted in representation and accessibility.
Each of our 15+ lesson plans can be made fresh and used again by simply swapping out the artist you chose from our Living Artists Section. They won’t get old or stale, because each one is designed to generate new information, connections, and discussions with each new artist you may choose.
This tool is perfect for teachers engaged in remote learning, parents educating in pods or via homeschooling, and any other youth leader or caregiver looking to bring real arts education resources into the fold.

The IPaintMyMind Arts Education Curriculum isn’t just a list of links. It’s an educational framework that intentionally moves students through our ‘See, Think, Do’ or ‘Experience, Reflect, Make’ pathway that activates teachers/parents and kids at the same time. By getting to know works by various contemporary working artists, contextualizing it, and making art yourselves, you’ll be enriched and engaged at the same time.
As part of our Three Phases of Learning, our team of curriculum designers and art teachers Activities or Arts Lesson Plans, which not only explore technique, art history, and aesthetics, but which are also adaptable to various ages. By connecting the practice of making art to the way it lives in the world, IPMM intends to help show adults and children alike that art & creative work is practical and viable.
In our Living Artists Section, we’ve included a list of the diverse artist roster represented in the IPMM Permanent Print Collection, an art collection we’ve been building since 2013 and which focuses exclusively on art prints. The list of artists provided is the fuel for diving into the activities. Select an artist or artists to study, then move through the Three Phases of Learning!
In addition to a full arts curriculum, we’ve also included Artist Interviews, a list of essential (and affordable) art supplies from our friends at Blick, and an art glossary.
We also ensure that learning is done by doing, culminating with the last phase of learning, which focuses on making a bunch of art! The Mini-Mural Activity is also a great way to harness your learning into one collective vision through collaborative creative action.
Working with communities over the past 8+ years has allowed us to build incredible relationships with Principals, Vice-Principals, Art Teachers, Park District Supervisors, Head Librarians, Youth Center Directors, Parents, Caregivers and the various important faculty and staff that make any school, park, library, youth center or home a beacon for children.
We’re proud to have provided art programs to over 100 public schools and are excited about our vision of being able to work with schools like yours over the course of 5 or 10 years, collaborating with Teachers, Parents, Youth Leaders and children alike, to co-create a comprehensive, vibrant, and empowering art experience for everyone involved.
The IPaintMyMind Arts Curriculum is infinitely remixable, meant to be reused and rediscovered over and over, revealing new connections each time. Enjoy it!
