School Hallways As Art Galleries, Shared Walls™ at Newberry Elementary
As we look to grow our Shared Walls™ program, it’s always awesome to connect with people that are engaged in providing more opportunities for their communities and students. When we got an email from Ms. Amy Jarrett-Clancy showing interest in bringing a temporary art exhibition to Newberry Elementary School at 700 W. Willow in Lincoln Park, we couldn’t have been happier.
Ms. Jarrett-Clancy saw what we did at Darwin Elementary School and was excited to participate.
A few short weeks later we installed the exhibition featuring screen prints by Chicago-based artist, Justin Santora with the help of our newest intern, Maria Camila Vargas, who did a great job!
We’re happy to check off a new Chicago neighborhood as we look to put a Shared Walls™ exhibition in every Ward in Chicago – making art accessible to everyone.
As always, if you know of deserving spaces that needs art, get in touch with us ideas@ipaintmymind.org or join our newsletter!
We believe that art should be a part of everyone’s experience & are thrilled that everyone at Newberry Elementary loves it. Onward.
