We’re hiring! The Impact Builder manages and executes external relationships, communications and lead generation for IPaintMyMind’s contributed revenue strategies, namely Sponsor A School. This position helps lead the brand storytelling and corporate charitable giving relationships development and management, and is responsible for developing and disseminating narratives that build credibility, relevance and drive revenue. 

The Impact Builder will help develop IPMM’s story focus on THE POWER OF ART and socialize passionately around that ethos, to gain support, funding, and volunteering agreements with Chicago’s most creative and exciting corporations, as well as nationally in key secondary markets, and advises executives on communications strategy, and supports functional areas of IPMM.

Essential Functions

  • Warm Outreach to Cultured Rolodex regarding corporate charitable giving alignment with IPMM’s focus of arts and education – convert corporate charitable giving departments to donate, fundraise, and volunteer for IPMM
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate charitable giving departments in Chicago and nationally.
  • Serve as in-person storyteller, interest generator, passion lighter for CSR professionals looking for plug n play solutions to get their employees excited and involvement, business, community, lifestyle and sports.
  • Strategic writer and editor who shapes public perception of the Organization while upholding its values and integrity. Writing and editing duties include, but not limited to: press releases, quote drafts, video scripts, event programs, marketing collateral, select internal and external written communications, op-eds, presentation decks, and multimedia projects.
  • Manage the development of proactive publicity and media operations for all IPMM Focus Campaigns, including IPMM events and initiatives via the following:
  • Serving as a stakeholder for dozens of media outlets and editorial decision makers.
  • Creating and pitching feature ideas to national and international arts, nonprofit, and charity media.
  • Oversee and participate in live monitoring of IPMM CSR Events like our Zoom Kick-Off Event for Sponsor A School partner companies, as well as related internal and external communications.
  • Advise on consistent and successful messaging throughout all communications, digital and marketing platforms.
  • Support Company executives and SAS Leadership with interview/sales mtg/CSR mtg preparation, message points, and strategic messaging.
  • Support social media and email marketing efforts with hyper personal touch points from the field. This includes photo, video, and brand awareness.
  • Manage SAS partnership requests and all leads as it relates to new companies participating in Sponsor A School (SAS) with committed contributions from $5000 – $50,000.
  • Respond to marketing team inquiries in a timely manner, provide background information, facilitate content and serve as a Company spokesperson on select topics as necessary, including media appearances.
  • Work closely with Executive Leadership to establish clear processes, goals, benchmarks, and collaboration flow among the IPMM Team.
  • Partner with other departments within the organization to stay informed and abreast of new initiatives, programs, and other organization-wide events.
  • Attend industry events (arts, nonprofits, corporate) to remain current with industry changes as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager.

 

Qualifications

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and can explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in charitable giving, sales, marketing, public relations, communications, or marketing required, with a major brand or agency preferred.
  • Working knowledge and passion for Chicago, the arts, the future of education, and the equity gap that exists in our city.
  • Extensive local, regional and national media and corporate contacts and demonstrated ability to tell, convey, and place stories.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with a variety of media and community contacts (such as newspapers, TV, radio, social media, etc.). Current relationships in Sports, Business, Community, and Philanthropic/Charitable media outlets/writers (both English and Spanish markets) are a plus.
  • Familiarity with current patterns and trends in PR, digital and social media.
  • Proven record of outstanding public speaking skills in addition to written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work successfully in a fast-paced environment while making sound and informed decisions to adapt to various unforeseen changes at the last minute.
  • Exceptional project management skills with ability to manage people/projects, delegate responsibility and provide follow-through on multiple projects.
  • Individual must be detail-oriented and proactive with the ability to work individually or in a group.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and identify opportunities to build\protect the IPMM brand.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required. Must be able to travel as needed.
