IPaintMyMind x Adidas Originals: Local Art Services That Give Back
We’re beyond excited to announce our latest partnership with Adidas Originals here in Chicago! We were lucky enough to work with the Adidas Team to curate art for the statement wall they have in their brand new flagship store at 1532. N. Milwaukee Avenue, just south of North Ave.
It’s been a few months in the making and we’ve kept it bottled up, but now that the store just opened, we’re proud to say that this latest Shared Walls rotating art rental partnership will power our mission into 2018!
The first rotation of art that we curated for the Adidas Originals flagship store is by Sonnenzimmer – dear friends of IPaintMyMind, incredible artists, and great people. Their unique aesthetic is a great way to kick things off, and we’ll keep you posted about what we curate for the next 3 art rotations this year.
If you’re in Chicago, make sure to stop by the store to check out the art and all the other cool stuff going on inside. From fly gear, to projections, beautiful furniture, and some of the sickest sneakers you’ll find, it’s worth stopping by.
The art exhibition you’ll see in the Adidas Originals Bucktown location will help IPaintMyMind fund, curate, and install 3 FREE art exhibitions in local public schools! How awesome is that?!
Every year budgets for schools are cut even more, and one of the first things to go are the arts – this partnership between the IPaintMyMind Shared Walls Program & Adidas is about helping fill that gap, and we couldn’t be more proud.
Our Shared Walls Program curates art for companies’ spaces, whether retail or offices, then uses that revenue to put FREE art exhibitions and curriculum in public schools, parks, libraries, and youth centers.
That way, whether at Adidas or a school on Chicago’s West Side – we get to work with people and art. With Adidas’s support, we’ll be able to hang art from the same collection in the hallways of Chicago Public Schools all over the city & pair it with an arts curriculum kids 5-18 can engage with.
Head to Adidas and be sure to sign up for our newsletter – thanks for being part of our mission to make art accessible in all communities!
