IPMM x Lisa Congdon – Artist Q&A for Portage Park Elementary
Covid-19 has really thrown a wrench in education, and we’ve been keeping in touch with our partners schools and teachers to help with any pressing needs and support e-learning efforts. We’d been cooking up Artist Q&A videos before that, initially to help connect artists from all over the world with our schools, and specifically, the schools their art is displayed in.
Since we were already moving to create this content, it’s become even more necessary to think about how arts engagement, and the work we normally so in schools, could be adapted to fit the current landscape.
What’s great is that it’s spawned new ideas and opened up some fun brainstorming. And in that vein, check out our brand-new curriculum-building resource tailored specifically to e-learning and hybrid learning, the IPMM Arts Education Curriculum & Resource Guide.
But let’s get to the heart of the matter.
We love Lisa Congdon. Her art, her style, her approach to life. When we purchased her prints to display at Portage Park Elementary, we were thrilled to add her work to our growing collection, and we’re even more excited about this.
Ms. Whitman’s students at Portage Park Elementary formulated questions for Lisa about her work, inspiration and artistic process, and Lisa was gracious enough to record a video answering them. While they are specific questions and answers, this video is super cool for any teacher who wants to highlight Lisa’s art, then help their students dive deeper into her process and. creative thinking.
Enjoy the video!
