Shared Walls™ Expands, Art by Jay Ryan Installed @ Boone Elementary
Working with schools is so fun. It’s great to be able to walk into a space and get a feel for where art will make the biggest impact. Maybe it’s the hallway that is flooded with kids between classes, an entryway, or in this case, the stairwell that kids use most to venture throughout the building.
Even cooler, we were able to place screenprints by local artist, Jay Ryan at Boone. Jay is a friend of IPMM and has been making colorful, fun, and funky screenprints for years now. We were lucky enough to secure his entire 2015 subscription, meaning every print he made in 2015 is part of the IPMM Collection. We’re honored to collect his work and share it with artists of the future.
The digital home for all his work is TheBirdMachine.com, and his studio isn’t far from Boone Elementary. Check out Jay’s site to purchase any of his latest work. It’s all incredibly affordable and is always a lot of fun. From art prints to gigposters, he’s got something for everyone.
We always love being able to work with local artists, and as luck would have it, Boone Elementary is in West Rogers Park, less than a 3 miles from Jay’s studio in Skokie.
We’d of course like to thank Principal Jaclyn Delany at Boone Elementary for being so enthusiastic about hosting a Shared Walls™ exhibition & for being so fantastic to work with. It’s always an honor to interact with the people helping create richer experiences for Chicago’s kids and this was no exception.
