The Mural Design Process: Art at PepsiCo Frito Lay HQ – Plano, TX
The journey to provide art at PepsiCo in Plano, TX began with consultation sessions with PepsiCo’s Employee Resource Groups and leadership team. We engaged in open dialogue to understand their vision, values, and the message they wished to convey through the mural. These conversations laid the foundation for the project, ensuring alignment between our creative direction and PepsiCo’s objectives.
Next came the exciting phase of concept creation and finalization. Drawing inspiration from the rich cultural heritage of Dallas and the diverse backgrounds of PepsiCo employees, we collaborated closely with artist Lisa Quine, a former resident of Plano, TX. Together, we envisioned a mural that would capture the spirit of unity, inclusivity, and community pride, and Lisa absolutely did an incredible job with the art.

The design stages were marked by creativity and collaboration. Lisa Quine’s talent brought the concept to life, infusing it with color, energy, and symbolism. We presented the initial designs to PepsiCo for feedback, which allowed for meaningful revisions to ensure the mural resonated with the broader community.
After several iterations and rounds of feedback, we finalized the design, culminating in a vibrant portrayal of Dallas and its people. The mural, spanning 30 feet, was meticulously crafted by Lisa Quine and installed using a digital vinyl method for durability, ensuring its longevity for years to come.
Throughout the process, we emphasized the importance of engagement and interaction. We created a QR code linked to a dedicated page where viewers could access a key explaining the mural’s symbolism, along with photos and videos documenting its creation.
None of this would have been possible without the dedicated efforts of our team and partners. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Natalie Hazzan at Cresa for her invaluable project management expertise. Special thanks to Jesus, Christina, and Kristina from PepsiCo for their unwavering support and collaboration. And, of course, our immense appreciation goes to the incredibly talented artist, Lisa Quine, whose vision and craftsmanship brought the mural to life.
