Video Recap of IPMM’s Big Install Week in CPS Schools
Now that schools are back in full swing, we wanted to take the time to recap our Shared Walls Installation Week–the biggest yet!
This year we were able to bring art galleries to 15 CPS schools around Chicago, revitalizing shared spaces and inspiring curiosity in thousands of students!
We were so excited to see some old friends, installing some of the art at schools that have worked with us for a couple of years now. Even more thrilling was getting to know some of the fresh faces at schools joining us for the first time!
The Shared Walls Installation Week is always our favorite time of the year: after all, it’s what we truly love doing. We get to check in with our communities and schools, hang out with amazing volunteers, and introduce amazing artwork from our partner artists to new spaces.
Last year, we couldn’t install art at our schools, because of the unfolding Covid-19 weirdness. It was an unavoidable pause, but a sad one nonetheless.
As we were planning the installs this year, however, we realized the extra time to coordinate, discuss with our partner schools, and consolidate our resources meant that this year was going to be the biggest and most creative Shared Walls Installation Week yet!
Plus, we were travelling in style, in our new Mural On Wheels!
Come along with us as we install art at CPS schools across Chicago’s many neighborhoods in these behind the scenes videos!
